Error
12: Variable not found
This
error indicates that TeleMagic was trying to find either an environment
variable or a field that no longer exists in the database. Usually
the error occurs when you have deleted a field from the structure
of a database but neglected to remove it from other places where
it may still be in use. You will know if this is the case simply
because the variable name mentioned in the error message will
also be the name of the field.
Because
the error will usually happen when loading the Contact Manager,
in order to repair the problem you will need to open a different
database first, close the Contact Manager, then open the database
that has the problem. This will allow you to work in that database
without getting the error. If the problem database is automatically
opened when you start the program, you may need to log into TeleMagic
using a different user ID in order to accomplish this. Once you
have successfully opened the database without loading the Contact
Manager, remove that field from all screens, rollup boxes, indexes
and filters.
Rather
than trying to find all of the places where that field is referenced,
you may find it easier to simply add the field back into the database.
If the field was deleted by accident, you will need to restore
a recent backup of the database directory in order to recover
any lost data. There are several help files that deal with specific
variations on the Error 12 message. If yours is not listed here,
and the instructions above did not help in resolving the error,
please contact the
Technical Support department for further assistance.
