Sorry! Unable to read the auto-number seeds for this database template

If an installation has been upgraded to V4 from a previous version, and you attempt to add a template from the Select Database dialog box, the error "Sorry! Unable to read the auto-number seeds for this database template" will appear. If you try to add a blank database, nothing will appear to happen.

Use the following instructions to correct the problem:

1. From the TeleMagic \COMMON directory, copy the files DBTYPES.DBF, DBTYPES.FPT, and DBTYPES.CDX to a safe place in another directory. This step is vital if your installation contains templates that you want to keep.
2. Delete the DBTYPES.* files from the \COMMON directory.
3. Copy the files _DBTYPES.DBF, _DBTYPES.FPT, and _DBTYPES.CDX from the TeleMagic \SYSTEM directory to the \COMMON directory.
4. Rename the _DBTYPES.* files in \COMMON to DBTYPES.* (remove the underscore).
5. Start TeleMagic.
6. From the File menu, choose Select Database.
7. Click the Add button.
8. Select Add New Template and click Install.
9. Locate the directory containing your original DBTYPES.* files and click OK. The template(s) it contains will be added to the list.

Note: This issue is resolved in version 4.5 of TeleMagic Enterprise. The upgrade to version 4.5 and a new version 5.0 can be acquired from Telemagic.ca .
