Word
Processor has not been configured or Unable to locate Data Header
Source
Q:
When attempting to perform a Print Merge or edit my word processing
documents in TeleMagic results in receiving an error of "Word
Processor Has Not Been Configured". How do I correct this?
A:
in previous versions of TeleMagic, TeleMagic treated Word 6, 95,
and 97 as the same word processor internally. In version 4, Word
6 and 95 are treated as one "type" of word processor, and Word
97 and 2000 are treated as another. This can result in a confusing
message when printing documents after upgrading either Word or
TeleMagic.
For
example, if you created a document using Word 97 with TeleMagic
version 3.5, then upgraded to TeleMagic version 4, TeleMagic would
still associate that Word 97 document with Word 6 and 95. When
you try to print the document, TeleMagic will display an error
stating that that word processor (Word 6 or 95) has not been configured.
The
workaround is to select Word 6/95 in Writing Preferences, but
enter the command line, which starts Word 97.
This
also holds true if you have created documents in an older version
of any word processor, then upgraded your word processor. When
you try to open the document, TeleMagic will read the word processor
identification for the document (based on TeleMagic Writing preferences)
and look for the original word processor. If it no longer exists,
you will not be able to open the document. If you edit the preferences
for the original word processor and point it to the new word processor,
you will be able to open the document.
Note:
This issue has been corrected in the upgrade to version 4.5. This
upgrade and a new version 5.0 can be acquired
from Telemagic.ca . Version 4.5 also contains a "Word Processor
Upgrade" option within Database Utilities.
