Disabling Anti-Virus software prior to Installation of TeleMagic

Before installing TeleMagic Enterprise V4 or upgrading to V4, you must first disable any anti-virus programs installed on your computer. This includes Norton AntiVirus.

If an anti-virus program is enabled while installing V4, a problem with InstallShield could cause all of the files copied to the TeleMagic directories to be stamped with the current date. This can cause serious problems with your Windows installation if you then attempt to run TeleMagic.

If you have already installed V4, have not yet run the program, and you are not sure if an anti-virus program is installed, you must check the dates on the program files in the \TM4\PROGRAMS directory BEFORE running TeleMagic. If they are stamped with the current date, do not run TeleMagic! Instead, disable the anti-virus program. Then, if it is a first-time install of TeleMagic V4, delete the TeleMagic installation and reinstall. If it is an upgrade to V4, you can either delete the installation and restore from backup, or simply run the V4.5 update program available by request from Telemagic.ca .
