E-mail - Opening Word Perfect 9 file attachments is empty?

Question: I received a Word Perfect file attachment to an email message but when I open it there is nothing inside?

Answer: If a WordPerfect 9 merge document is attached to an e-mail message, then opened on a computer with the Windows word processor association set to WordPerfect 8, WordPerfect 8 will start and display a blank document. This is because WordPerfect 8 cannot open WordPerfect 9 documents.
