The TeleMagic Error Log

When an error occurs in TeleMagic, a dialog box will appear which allows the user to record the circumstances leading to the error. When you click the OK button on this window, TeleMagic writes the information provided to the error log, along with other information on the state of your system at the time of the error.

If this dialog box does not pop up, the user can still make a record of the problem by choosing Log the System Status from the Help menu. You can later view each individual error log by selecting View System Log from the Help menu. This will open a browse window, from which you can view details about the system at the time of the error, as well as print reports on individual errors.

A standard report is also included which allows you to print all of the information contained in the error log, either for all users or for a selected user or group of users. To print this report, go to the Reports menu, select System Reports, then Error Report.

The error log consists of three files: ERRORS.DBF, ERRORS.FPT, and ERRORS.CDX. These files may be deleted at any time. They will be recreated the next time an error occurs, or the next time the system status is logged.
